Real Student Success Stories

See how our financial planning students built practical skills through hands-on projects and landed meaningful careers across Australia's finance sector.

Portfolio Projects That Matter

Our students don't just study theory – they build real financial planning solutions. From retirement calculators to investment analysis tools, each project mirrors what they'll actually do in their careers.

  • Personal budget optimization systems used by real families
  • Investment portfolio analysis for local small businesses
  • Retirement planning tools that factor in Australian superannuation
  • Debt reduction strategies tested with actual case studies

What makes these different? Every project gets reviewed by working financial advisors who provide feedback that actually helps students improve.

Student Journey Timeline

Months 1-3: Foundation & First Projects

Students master basic financial concepts while working on their first real project – usually a comprehensive budget analysis for a fictional family. By month three, they're already building tools that could help actual clients.

Months 4-8: Specialized Skills Development

This is where students dive deep into investment analysis, superannuation planning, and risk assessment. Each student completes at least two major projects during this phase, often collaborating with local businesses or community organizations.

Months 9-12: Capstone & Industry Connection

The final phase focuses on portfolio completion and networking. Students present their best work to industry professionals and often receive job referrals. About 60% of our graduates find their first role through connections made during this period.

Post-Graduation Support

We maintain contact with graduates for their first two years in the industry. Many return as guest speakers or project mentors, creating a supportive community that benefits everyone.

Where Our Students Work Now

Kai finished our program in late 2024 and now works as a junior financial advisor with a boutique firm in Brisbane. His story isn't unique – most of our graduates find roles within six months of completing their studies.

What surprised me most about our graduates is how well they adapt to different work environments. Some join large financial planning firms, others prefer smaller practices, and a few have even started their own consulting businesses.

The key difference seems to be the practical experience they gain through project work. Employers consistently tell us our students arrive already knowing how to use industry-standard software and analytical techniques.

  • Financial planning firms across Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane
  • Bank investment advisory divisions
  • Superannuation fund analysis teams
  • Independent financial consulting practices

Our next cohort starts in September 2025. Applications open in July, and we typically fill spots within three weeks.
